Religious Education

The Religious Education Department at HUUC is considered one of our more important ministries. HUUC RE works to develop in our members and friends the principles and values that are central to the UU community. Our program utilizes the UUA’s “Tapestry of Faith” curriculum to explore the four major themes of spirit, faith, ethics and UU identity. We conduct Sunday morning classes with our younger UU’s and have recently begun a Wednesday evening adult class.

The youth group meets weekly for two hours on Thursday evenings. We talk about a wide variety of topics ranging from different faith paths to social action to sexuality. We do a social action project quarterly and have collected trash on the beach, volunteered at the local animal shelter and passed out food at the church sponsored food truck. We have monthly movie nights with interesting discussions. Mostly we have fun.
